District Nine comprises 32 Altrusa Clubs across Texas. The Board of Directors represents all Clubs at the higher level of the organization. These are the District Nine Board of Directors for the 2009-2011 Biennium.

Governor LaVone Arthur
LaVone Arthur has been a member of Altrusa International Inc. of Downtown Dallas since 1986. LaVone is Vice President of Finance at Baylor Health Care System. She is married to Jack Arthur and has a 10-year-old stepdaughter, Caroline. The other two members of her family are 3-year-old Shih-Tzu Rascal and 2-year-old Yorkie-Tzu CoCo. In her spare time, she enjoys theater, music, and cooking (actually, eating Jack’s cooking).
Governor Elect Beth Blair
Beth Blair has been a member of Altrusa International Inc. of Dallas since 1997. Beth received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She is proud to work as an editor for the national office of the Boy Scouts of America. When she finds a spare minute, Beth enjoys cross-stitching, reading, and crafts, and has been known to let off steam at the batting cage. Beth and her fiance, Scott, live happily in Lewisville, Texas, with three four-legged kids.

First Vice Governor Laura Trainor Collins
Laura Trainor became a member of Altrusa International Inc. of Northeast Dallas County in 1998 and is a chartering member of the Garland Club. She is an audiologist with a master’s degree from the University of North Texas. Laura opened a private practice audiology center in Garland in 1997. She is currently serving her second term as president of Garland Federation of Clubs. Laura is engaged to her long-time sweetheart, Thomas Collins, and they plan to marry in the near future.

Second Vice Governor Sylvia Zamora
Sylvia Zamora has been a member of Altrusa International since.1999 and is currently a member of Altrusa International Inc. of San Antonio. Sylvia received a BS and Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Texas-Pan American. She is an educational consultant and also manages her family business-ZAMTEX Investments. Sylvia has been married to her high school sweetheart, Ruben, for 34 years and they have two children. Lauren, an Altrusan, is a practicing attorney in San Antonio.and their son Aaron is a student at the University of Texas-San Antonio. Still living at home are Saity and Sasha, their two schnauzers. Her hobbies includes reading, antiquing, and attending musicals and sports events.

Treasurer Linda Hurt
Linda Hurt has been a member of Altrusa International Inc. of DFW since 2002. She has served in a number of capacities including Treasurer of both Altrusa DFW and Altrusa DFW Foundation. Linda retired from BNSF Railway Company in 2010 after a 32-year career in the finance department. Her most recent position there was Vice President – Investor Relations. Before that, she was Treasurer of the company for about seven years.
Director Linda Moore
Linda Moore has been an active member of Altrusa International Inc of Temple since 1999. Since that time, she has served this club in various positions including Club Treasurer,
President-Elect and 2005-2006 Club President. She has served on the Club Foundation Board twice and is currently Foundation Treasurer. Linda has worked on and chaired and co-chaired numerous club committees and fundraisers including Caring Ball, a fundraiser for the Temple Community Free Clinic, and the 2009 District Nine Conference.
Director Janelle Williamson
Janelle Williamson became an Altrusan with Altrusa International, Inc. of Texarkana, Texas in 2003. She has found Altrusa a wonderful learning experience and a way to make friends in near and far away places. A couple of the many benefits she’s found in Altrusa include making a difference in local communities by helping with worthy causes, and gaining leadership skills that help her with Altrusa relationships, business, and life in general.
Past Governor Kathy Folley
Kathy Folley has been a member of Altrusa International, Inc. of Temple since 1993. In her spare time, she is an Administrative Assistant for the Engineering Group of Wilsonart International Inc. She is married to Bud Folley and has two daughters, a son-in-law, and five amazing grandchildren, plus two four legged babies named Maggie and Sam. Her husband’s hobby is golf—her hobby is Altrusa.
