Altrusa San Antonio receives grant for children’s book project.
Through the generosity of Altrusa International Foundation (https://foundation.altrusa.org/), the San Antonio club received a grant to complete a children’s book project. Studies have shown that bibliotherapy reduces stress and anxiety in hospitalized children. Books and toys that engage children’s attention in a colorful and soothing way help children feel better and heal faster. After receiving the grant, Altrusans bought new children’s books and plush toys which complemented the story plot of each book. Each kit contains a book, a plush toy, and a card with inspirational messages to the children.
Altrusa San Antonio will be delivering 200 book kits to CHRISTUS Children’s hospital on Wednesday, December 18 at 11:30 a.m. All are invited to attend. The Hospital is located at 315 N San Saba Street, San Antonio, TX.
