Altrusa of Anderson County, Texas

Altrusa International of Anderson County, Inc. knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Since 1964, members of Altrusa International of Anderson County, Inc. have been working to make Anderson County, Texas a better community for everyone. Through various service projects throughout the year, Altrusans do whatever they can to fill whatever needs we find in our community. Some of our projects include:

  • Providing school supplies to area elementary schools
  • Providing educational scholarships to graduating seniors;
  • Working with Meals on Wheels;
  • Providing books to elementary school students;
  • Working with Blankets and Bears to toiletry supplies to school campuses throughout the county
  • Local food banks;
  • Providing supplies to BARC, the Animal Shelter;
  • Providing supplies to the VA Clinic and Veterans Support Clinic; and,
  • Working hand-in-hand with the United Way of East Texas to provide services to all

Our club meets twice each month. The business meeting where we make most of our decisions are held on the second Monday at 6:00 PM.
On the fourth Tuesday of each month, we hold our program meeting where we sometimes have a guest speaker and sometimes conduct a service project. But this is where we always get to know one another better.

We sometimes move our meetings to other locations to facilitate service projects. So email us to confirm the location if you'd like to be included. We also have the option to join meetings virtually, so email if you'd like to receive the virtual meeting invitation.
